Public Hospitals and Vulnerable Populations

We will distribute medical and essential supplies

Personal protective equipment is meant to protect the wearer from harm or infection. Medical supplies including personal protective equipment is critical to public health and community-based efforts to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prevention and the protection of medical personnel requires among other things: testing kits, masks, visors, gloves, protective gowns as well as soap and hand sanitiser. We are working around the clock to secure these supplies; medical supplies for public hospitals and then other essential supplies such as food or masks to segments of population most at risk from COVID-19.

INP-HB

The Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) is a public institution of higher education, research and production located in Yamoussoukro in Côte d'Ivoire. In order to contribute to the effort to fight against the coronavirus pandemic in Côte d'Ivoire, the faculty staff and students of INP-HB have proposed three projects covering the prevention and treatment phases:

- Production of soaps, gels and hydroalcoholic solutions for hand washing and disinfection of premises ;

- Production of juices enriched with vitamin C and antioxidants to strengthen the immune system;

- Production of ventilators to assist patients in case of respiratory stress., beginning with the development of prototypes.

These projects will serve pedagogical and humanitarian objectives. The process of building prototypes teaches students how to build complex machinery with the ultimate objective of producing ventilators that can be used by the public hospitals in Côte d'Ivoire. We are proud to support the faculty, staff and students of INP-HB, by helping to source materials required for the ventilator prototypes as part of the third project the university is undertaking in its fight against COVID-19. We will not be making grants to INP-HB but rather sourcing the supplies needed (i.e. plexiglass etc)

Please note that this is a project in R&D phase before you donate.
